9Kite surfers
Continue reading »Summer is coming to town! It’s getting hotter and hotter here so every now and then when I get a chance I go to the beach. When you finish work early on Fridays (as I do!), every weekend seems sort of like short holidays when you get a chance to have a swim in the ocean or just go for a walk on the sand. Especially when you grew up few hundred kilometers from the seaside. These days I live less than 10km from the ocean so quite often I get to check what’s going on the beach. And when it’s quite windy there’s a lot of kite surfing going on.

20Lake Monger, my usual running track
Continue reading »Unlike Kings Park, I visit Lake Monger quite regularly as it’s very close to my house and it became my usual running track. While preparing for the 12km “City 2 Surf” run earlier this year (which I ended up finishing under an hour and was stoked about!) you could have met me there even 3 times a week but these days when I’m back to playing soccer and (check me out…) started boxing (or rather boxercise) I try to run at least once a week. I know, sounds like I went bit exercise crazy but it’s all good fun. Especially for someone who before the knee reconstruction wasn’t doing anything for good few years. And Lake Monger is actually a very nice spot for a jog. Check out why.

6Albany
Continue reading »This time few photos from a place around 50km away from Denmark – Albany. Unfortunately when we had a chance to go there the weather wasn’t very nice and it rained a lot (yes, it does rain in Australia) but it still seemed like a nice place and I’m sure I’ll be back there one day. But for now have a look how does it look like in winter.

14Denmark
Continue reading »Time to take you to Denmark. Not the one in Europe tho, little town called Denmark is located on the southern coast of WA and it’s a very nice spot to visit. The best time to go would probably be Perth’s summer cause it’s usually bit cooler down there but we had a chance to go there during Australian winter and it wasn’t too bad at all.

0Eddie Vedder and Luc Longley
Continue reading »Yesterday I went to see Pearl Jam concert and it was really, really good but what I want to write about is something that actually happened few hours after. During the concert one of the songs was dedicated to one of the first West Australians people from the band got to know, their “good friend Mr Luc Longley”. If don’t recall the name, he’s that tall center who won 3 NBA championships with Chicago Bulls (when Michael Jordan was there of course). I didn’t actually know he was Australian let alone that he’s from Perth so I just thought, cool, something new to know.
Few beers and few hours later we were playing snooker when some really tall guy asked me about my mo that I grow for Movember (btw. you can support me here). It was probably few seconds after my reply that I realised it was Luc Longley who was playing pool with Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam vocalist) on the table next to us! So we got a chance to thank for the awesome performance in person, how cool is that? :)
Btw. you’ve probably heard heaps of Pearl Jam songs but do you know any from Eddie Vedder solo album? “Society” is one of my favorite songs ever, check if out if you get a chance.
