16Australia Day
The 26th of January is Australia Day and it usually turns into one big party all around the country. This is very much different than Polish Independence Day which is more like ANZAC Day here. In Perth Australia Day also means Lotterywest Skyworks - huge half an hour fireworks show which is always synchronised with music being broadcast by one of the local radio stations. Have a look how people from Perth gather on the Swan river foreshore to check it out.

1. You can find anything made from national flag - tents, bikinis, thongs, towels...
2. The weather deffinitely helps to celebrate this way
3. Some years there are more than 300.000 watching the show, but this year (maybe because of the intoduced booze ban) it was around 250.000 I think
4. There are flags everywhere
5.
6. It's hard to imagine flag being used that way in Poland, it's interesting how different the approach is

This is how it looks like with the music - last minute or so from this year's show below. I was bit closer but couldn't really find any good videos from Kings Park that would include at least a bit of soundtrack.
