Mendoza to Uspallata

After we left the capital we went across Argentina almost all the way west. 14-hour trip on the bus which included playing bingo in Spanish which is quite funny when you don’t speak the language and we got to Mendoza. Few problems with hiring a car from local Louis de Funes (he remembered Poland playing there in 1978 World Cup!), unexpected Chile national day celebrations and we were finally off on our first drive through the mountains.

Last visit to Capital Federal

One more stop in Buenos Aires before we finally move to the mountains. Bit more of Recoleta plus San Telmo (where we stayed) and Puerto Madero. Definitely the richer part of the city.

Few more shots from Buenos

If I keep going through my photos from South America with the current pace it might take me a while by the time we get to Iguassu Falls which we’ve visited at the end of our trip… But the weather here is so awesome it just feels wrong to sit in front of the computer. Anyway, step by step :) This time Buenos Aires Centro and a nice park in Recoleta which very much reminded my of Perth.

Buenos Aires – colourful La Boca

My overall impression of Buenos Aires was that it’s not as different or exotic as I expected it to be, especially in the city centre. Even people don’t look very different than in Europe for example. I’ll try to upload some photos to prove that soon but today let’s go to La Boca. This suburb is well known for at least two things: colourful street called Caminito and La Bombonera – the home of Boca Juniors. Even if you’re not a soccer fan you’ve probably heard of a guy called Diego Maradona, he used to play there.

Finally back home

Long time away is always nice but there’s no other feeling like getting a good night sleep in your own bed. Perth welcomed me with the best possible weather: no cloud in the sky for the last three days and the temperature in the high twenties so I had to go and see the sunset of course. Few days and I should be able to post first photos from Argentina. I have lots of them so (considering I still haven’t uploaded all the photos from my Australian trips) it may take me a while to go through all of them.
