20Sea kayaking to Penguin Island
Have a look at my Christmas present :) We went for half a day sea kayaking trip to Penguin Island, a small island just of the coast of Rockingham, which is probably around an hour drive south of Perth. Funny thing is we had no tourists on our tour, everyone was from Perth. It was still easy to feel like on holidays tho, especially in this awesome weather.
1. Our kayaks
2. We just got into the water and already have some company
3. Two dolphing swam around us for quite a while
4. Sea lions
5. They look quite lazy, don't they?
6. And finally some penguins
7. They were molting at the time which meant waiting in almost 40 degrees for couple of weeks for their feathers to become water resistant. Not fun at all.
8. That's why they were hiding in caves like that one
9. These ones are more lucky, inside and already after molting
10. They're swimming like little torpedoes
11. Oh, we saw a lizard as well, it seemed to enjoy that chip
12. Waiting for their time to be fed
13. He got his share of food already
14. Few have their fish thrown into the pool
15. Others are fed from hand
16. And they get to eat however much they want
17. Looks a bit like a duck
18. Rockingham shore seen from the island
19. North side of the island. In the distance the Seal Island where we saw sea lions.
20. Nice water all around
Don't forget to help me get to Mongolia!
