0Off to the Mongol Rally
Continue reading »Been bit quiet for a while here, mostly due to my preparation for the craziness of the Mongol Rally. Leaving for Europe today and in just over a week’s time we will take off for the ultimate road trip, trying to drive a tiny car from the Czech Republic to Mongolia. I’m not expecting to have internet access too often but I promise to post a lot of photos when I’m back. In the meantime check our progress on www.mongolrally.com.au.

0My subjective airline ranking
Continue reading »Today something a bit different, instead of posting photos from my travels I’ve decided to create my own small ranking of airlines I had a chance to fly with. Of course the order is very subjective cause with some of them I’ve only been on single short flight whereas others I’ve used many times. Sometimes it was hard to decide so the way I’ve approached it was to decide: if I had two flights to the same destination with two different airlines for roughly the same price, which one would I pick? So here it is – who to fly with according to Miki.

0Mongol Rally 2011
Continue reading »Today something a bit different. Normally I would upload photos from my past travels but this time it’s about my future adventures. Later this year I’m taking part in the Mongol Rally, a crazy attempt to drive a 1.2 litre car from Prague (Czech Republic) to Ulanbataar (Mongolia). Our planned route involves going through Czech Republic, Poland, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan again, Russia again and finally Mongolia.

0Eddie Vedder and Luc Longley
Continue reading »Yesterday I went to see Pearl Jam concert and it was really, really good but what I want to write about is something that actually happened few hours after. During the concert one of the songs was dedicated to one of the first West Australians people from the band got to know, their “good friend Mr Luc Longley”. If don’t recall the name, he’s that tall center who won 3 NBA championships with Chicago Bulls (when Michael Jordan was there of course). I didn’t actually know he was Australian let alone that he’s from Perth so I just thought, cool, something new to know.
Few beers and few hours later we were playing snooker when some really tall guy asked me about my mo that I grow for Movember (btw. you can support me here). It was probably few seconds after my reply that I realised it was Luc Longley who was playing pool with Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam vocalist) on the table next to us! So we got a chance to thank for the awesome performance in person, how cool is that? :)
Btw. you’ve probably heard heaps of Pearl Jam songs but do you know any from Eddie Vedder solo album? “Society” is one of my favorite songs ever, check if out if you get a chance.

0Here we go again
